The April A-Z Challenge is just around the corner. Never heard of it? It’s a blogging challenge of epic proportions. Every day in April (with the exception of Sundays) one must write a blog post about a topic that starts with whatever letter of the alphabet it is that day. So April 1 is Monday. Monday = A and you would write something about something that starts with A. Some people have themes some people just write. But whatever you choose to do, you have to write a blog post and hop around and visit other blogs.
As much as I’d love to join again this year, I’m going to have to say no. I have way too many obligations this year and adding a daily blog post for an entire month could very well kill me. Between scheduling blog tours, editing books, and managing a blog tour that starts April 1 (and that’s just the duties from Paper Crane Books) I’m also juggling two book projects of my own.
This wasn’t an easy decision for me. I was actually strongly considering joining the challenge regardless of my obligations. A-Z was a blast last year and I’m proud to say that I completed the challenge. I didn’t think that I would have because I’m such a terrible blogger, but I did! And it was so easy to come up with blog posts with a topic on hand. It made me more focused and more conscious about my time management and despite all the blood, sweat, and tears, I came out a slightly better writer because of it. I highly recommend trying out this challenge if you have the time.
