It has come to my attention that I haven’t written an actual blog post in what feels like forever. I’ve had so many guests and tours on here that it gave me plenty of time to run behind the scenes and sort of disappear and catch up on this huge pile of work that had become taller than me. So I’m checking in with you. Because I like to keep you updated and because I can’t wait for everyone to see what in the world I’ve been up to.
First things first: I posted the title of my next book on my Facebook and/or Twitter accounts a while back ago, but I think I failed to write a proper blog post about it. Because, ya know, I might kinda sorta fail at this whole social media thing. My next book will be called THE GUARDIAN and it’ll officially end my trilogy. For those of you who have read my books and are Reeze fans, I promise you that there’s going to be a lot of Reeze in this one. Lots of fun stuff and I plan on having him be on the cover, too. I’m shooting for it to be done and published sometime in the first quarter of 2014 and I just need to write up the last 10 or so chapters of the first draft before tackling the second draft. Exciting, no?
Secondly: I’m venturing out of my comfort zone here and have decided to try to attend conventions. But not just to sign books. No. I’ll be there selling some artwork. Most of the artwork will be related to my series, but I’m also going to have some fanart and buttons available.
I’m ridiculously excited about my buttons more than anything. Chibis are just the best.
I’m fine tuning one art piece that’s a scene from THE GUARDIAN and that’s going to be posted on my Tumblr sometime this week along with a first draft excerpt. And that’s kind of a big deal because I don’t like posting first draft excerpts, but because you’ve been waiting so long for this last book, I’m going to do it.
It’s a small con, so I’m not worried about having a gazillion things. Just starting small and seeing how things work out. There might be update on it after it happens and if it goes well, I might venture to do bigger cons if I’m feeling brave enough!
Thirdly: I’m also starting work on a short story collection called SONGBOOK, which I plan on having out by summer of next year. I’m not going to say much on the concept of it, but just know that I’m rather giddy about that, too.On the blog front, expect a blog post about fangirliness that I wanted to write up earlier to coincide with my Fangirl review, which everyone should read at least once in their lives. The book, that is, not my review. And there should be a couple of book reviews for Obsidian and Onyx, the first two books in the Lux series by Jennifer L. Armentrout sometime this month if I can squeeze them in.
