John Carter is always fun to work with. He gives me an idea and lets me run with it. I’m always asking him questions about things to ensure that I’m still on track with his vision, but his cover ideas are just fun. Things that I learned when making this cover: drawing libraries is no fun because of all the books you must put on the shelves. It’s actually quite exhausting.
As soon as John Cover told me his idea, I knew I wanted to sort of incorporate the old B-movie horror film look to it. I intentionally made the cover grungy and dark and it was a blast to use as many textures as I could to help get the tone down. This cover was also the first cover I got to digitally paint a full spread: both front and back covers.
